Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) Co-funding MOU Renewed 2025 – 2028

The Cancer Research Trust (CRT) is pleased to advise that the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) and the CRT, originally signed in July 2019 and extended for the period 2022 – 2024, has once again been extended for a further three years until the end of 2028.

The MOU sets forth the terms and understanding of co-funding by ACRF and CRT to further enhance cancer research capacity in Western Australia. This co-funding takes the form of CRT providing limited grant support to a successful WA-based recipient of an ACRF grant of up to $100,000 per annum for the 3 years for personnel to operate equipment to be purchased with ACRF Grant monies or participate in the conduct of the project to ensure that the equipment is available and used for maximum impact and efficiency.

CRT will not be involved in or influence the decision in relation to the selection of the institution to receive the grant.

The procedures that ACRF will use for the selection of the grant are detailed in the ACRF Grant Guidelines and ACRF Grant Format of Application.

Should you (Principal Investigator) and your team be applying for funding from ACRF, and you believe that your application meets the abovementioned guidelines, you should submit an Executive Summary for review by CRT. Your submission to CRT should include an outline of your research proposal, strategy and key outcomes as well as indicating the benefits to Cancer Research in Western Australia. Should it meet the CRT guidelines and be approved, the CRT will provide a Letter of Support for inclusion in your ACRF application and you will be eligible to apply for the co-funding in the event you are awarded an ACRF grant.
